Fromm Family Foods Recalls Frozen Dog Food Due to Potential Plastic Contamination
Fromm Family Foods, a pet food company based in Mequon, Wisconsin, is voluntarily recalling 300 cases of its Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe gently cooked frozen dog food due to potential contamination with foreign plastic material. The recall affects the following product.

The affected product was distributed to neighborhood pet stores in the following U.S. states: Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, as well as in the Canadian province of Ontario. The items are sold frozen in sealed packaging, with the lot code printed on the product.
Dogs that ingest plastic may experience symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort. In cases where large amounts are consumed, it can result in gastrointestinal upset or a risk of intestinal obstruction. Pet owners whose dogs have consumed the recalled product and are showing these symptoms should contact their veterinarian.
The potential contamination was discovered after the company received consumer complaints about plastic in the product. No illnesses or injuries in pets have been reported to date. Fromm Family Foods has identified the issue, implemented corrective actions, and is conducting the voluntary recall in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Consumers are advised to stop feeding the recalled product to their dogs immediately. The product should be returned to the place of purchase for a refund or exchange. Pet food bowls, utensils, and any surfaces that came into contact with the recalled product should be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
