  7. 1 cup rolled oats
  8. 3-4 cups oat flour

    1. In a saucepan, mix the peanut butter, honey, peanut oil and water.

    1. Heat – stirring often – until the mixture begins to simmer.

    1. After you have left to simmer then remove from heat.

    1. knead until smooth (about 3-5 minutes).

    1. Knead the dough into a ball, and roll to 1/4-inch (6 mm) thick.

    1. Cut the dough into shapes.

    1. Transfer to ungreased baking sheets,

    1. Space the ingredients about 1/4 inches (6 mm) apart.

    1. Bake for 30 minutes

    1. Remove the cookies from the oven and rotate them after 30 mins

    1. Bake them for an extra 30 minutes until golden brown.

  1. Allow to cool for a few hours or overnight.

If you allow the cookies to cool in the oven the extra time in the oven as they cools off helps make them crispier and crunchier and we use them for special or dog obedience training treats.

If after being rolled a few times the dough becomes too crumbly to work with, sprinkle with a little water to bind it together and knead it for 30 seconds or so.

Makes: several dozen small treats that keep and freeze well. This is one of our favorite healthy homemade dog food recipes that your dog or puppy will love.
