Banana & Peanut Ice Cream – your dog or puppy will love this!

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tbsp peanut butter
  2. 2 tbsp honey
  3. 1 tbsp mashed banana or one large jar of baby fruit
  4. 32 oz vanilla yogurt

How to make:

  1. Blend all the ingredients together.
  2. Freeze the mixture in either 3 ounce paper cups or ice cube trays.

Microwave for just a few seconds before serving.

Tomato Bone Biscuits

Tomato Bone Biscuits, are dogs loved this homemade dog food recipe.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 tbsp dehydrated minced OR powdered garlic
  2. 2 cup bran
  3. 1 cup cornmeal
  4. 1 cup rye flour
  5. 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  6. 2 cups whole wheat flour
  7. 1/2 cup non fat dry milk
  8. 1 pack dry yeast
  9. 1/4 cup warm water
  10. 2 cups tomato juice ( salt free)

How to make:

  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
  • Combine all dry ingredients (ingredients 1-7) except the yeast.
  • Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add the tomato juice
  • Mix with dry ingredients.
  • Knead (for about 3 minutes) until a very stiff dough is formed.
  • Cut into bone shapes.
  • Place on a un-greased baking sheet and bake for 1 hour.
  • Turn the oven off and leave the biscuits overnight.
  • Make sure biscuits are left for 4 hours to cool and harden.

 

Makes: about 7 dozen cookie size biscuits.

Pasta Pooch Dog Food, this proved a favorite for our little westie.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 (16 oz.) bag peas and carrots
  2. 8 oz. cheese
  3. 1 lb. shell pasta
  4. 16 oz. spaghetti sauce
  5. 2 (12 oz.) cans chick peas
  6. 6 eggs

How to make:

  •  Allow the peas and carrots to defrost (if frozen).
  • Grate the cheese or cut into cubes.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package directions and let it cool.
  • Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Divide the mixture and put 2-cup portions into zip-lock bags.
  • One zip-lock bag is a meal for a very large dog.

 

Note: this mixture freezes well.
