Why is my sweet male toy Poodle/pom become agressive after an airplane flight?

Ok so me an my family traveled to Guatemala with our dog (he came with us on the plane). Then when we got to Guatemala he started to growl at my aunts and grandma, so we thought “oh they are just strangers to him he just needs to get used to them” but three days later and he was still agressive towards them, which is wierd cause he has NEVER been like that towards people, he even got to the point where he snapped at one of my aunts and he also started to growl at me and my family which he hasn’t ever done. He has never bitten anyone or shown signs of aggression and he has had all his shots including the ones mandatory to take a dog out of the USA. He is about five years old a toy poodle/pom mix, he has been socialized very well and trained to know that he is at the bottom of the family “pack” and that I am the alpha leader, but it seemed very strange to us that he has done that. My mom keeps telling my that he may have been traumatized by the plane ride and that he is just scared but that doesnt seem likely to me because he was very calm on the plane. Could it be just that he is scared of the change of a new scenery or that he may have gotten sick? Please help i’m not sure if I should take him to a vet ASAP and I don’t to take him to one here cause I dont really trust and vet with him, as I have his own personal vet one that has been the vet for alot of dogs for my family and thinking about flying back to the USA to have him checked. Hi and thanks for your question – this is a really difficult one as I have never come across this before. If your dog has always been fine and never shown any aggressive behavior before then I would take him to a vet as soon as possible as there might be a reason for this sudden change in behavior.
